Randy O’Hara

Randy O’Hara is a local wildlife and landscape photographer who spent a month on Newfoundland. The exhibit is called “Newfoundland Through my Eyes” and features Black and White, monochrome and maybe a little more.

Marion Shannon

Marion Shannon has been working with glass for 20 over years.  Her love of animals and nature reflect in her work.  You will often see wood, rocks and recycled objects in her work.

Having grown up with her parents owning a Craft Store she learnt many crafts and always had a flare for the Arts, having won an Art Contest with Disney when only 13 years old. Over her career she developed a line of clothing with her comical horse drawings and was in Equine Stores across Canada.

Now retired, she continues to experiment and push the boundaries of glass. As most painters who envision a picturesque painting of nature, Marion pictures her surrounding sceneries in glass, working with powdered glass, and small pieces of glass then fusing the glass in a kiln. Some pieces of work can take up to 5 firings in the kiln.

Debra Lynn Wright

Debra Lynn Wright grew up in Midland, Ontario, and spent many years moving throughout Northern Ontario before settling in the beautiful Grey Highlands, where she has called home for the past 26 years.

A primarily self-taught artist, Debra has developed her love of painting through years of practice, exploration, and inspiration. She has also had the opportunity to learn through workshops with accomplished artists, including Peter John Reid and Brian Buckrell.

One of Debra’s greatest artistic influences has been her mother, artist Carole Burtch Rudderham, who inspired and encouraged her love of art from an early age.

Today, Debra enjoys bringing her love of nature, colour, and the beauty of the world around her to life through her paintings.

The Guest Artist program at the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-operative is a great way participate with our group. Monthly, we host three artists in a dedicated spot in our gallery. This program is extremely popular and we have long waiting lists! We are hoping to accept more guests monthly in the future. When we are looking for new members, we often look at the list of past guest members.

Our Legacy Gallery Committee juries work submitted monthly, and if the work seems to be a good fit with our establishment, a month is determined with the input of our membership member. We ask potential guests to fill out a guest artist’s application.   Please plan to bring work in for jurying two to three days before the monthly committee meeting and arrange to pick up the next day. (Contact the store manager for details on the monthly date).

A good representation of your work must be submitted and appear as it would for sale and display in the store, i.e. all paintings, drawings must be titled, framed and/or glazed and ready for hanging. All work must be intended for sale. No more than 6 items please. Any relevant information regarding working methods, materials and pricing should accompany your work along with a brief artist’s biography or resume.   When choosing you pieces, think of a body of cohesive work, rather than all the different styles or disciplines you practice.
