With her affinity for vibrant colour and her delicate attention to the play of light and shadow, Linda’s paintings evoke a gentle yet passionate view of her surroundings. Whether that view is inspired by the serenity and beauty of a crisp winter morning, or a startling depiction of a European street scape, it is captured with the intention of being shared and enjoyed by others.
Linda is proficient in watercolour, oil, acrylic and pastel. Her subject matter is as varied as the world around her and includes both natural and man made elements, as seen in harmony with one another. Her lifelong passion for art developed into a full time painting career in 1990, when she moved to the Grey Bruce area. A founding member of the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op, she also began teaching painting at that time and established her own Artist Retreat in 2000. A prolific and accomplished artist, Linda Bester’s work can be found in many private and corporate collections worldwide.
