Constance Maconaghie is an artist interested in capturing time and memory in her black and white representational paintings. She works from snapshots taken by herself of local scenes, landscapes and life, and adds depth of meaning through the painting process and her personal interpretation. She has been a working artist for over 10 years, recently expanding her art practice to include collaborations and private commissions along with producing her original work. Constance holds a BFA (2005) from the University of Guelph, where she was the recipient of the Fine Arts Emerging Artist Award (2003), the JAS Painting Award (2005) and was granted entry into Specialized Studio, an intensive program intended to prepare a select group for continuing on to a Masters in Fine Art. She has since exhibited and worked in various studios in Ontario and Quebec over the years. Constance currently works at her Big Bay Ontario studio.
