Stella melds painting and sculpture to create “constructed paintings” using light-weight canvas, wire, cotton batting, gesso and acrylic paint. Playing with light and shadow is what motivates and inspires her. In the process of designing and constructing her layered paintings and sculptures, Stella experiments with, and photographs, temporary 3D collages.
