When I first saw the devastation happening to our Ash Trees, my research brought me to their amazing history.  The White Ash has furnished our homes and the Black Ash is unique because the growth rings are flexible and can be separated into splints (strips) for basket making.

Soon the Ash will be gone, thanks to an insect called “the emerald ash borer”.

My hope is to leave a few Black Ash baskets so future generations can appreciate their history.
