I have enjoyed life to the fullest. My interest in photography began at an early age. I have always been interested in the outdoors and that love of the environment shaped my passion for education and photography.
I taught for 5 years in Mississauga and when I moved to Grey County in 1975 I had the privilege of teaching at Saugeen Valley and Holstein. I began my administrative career as a vice principal of Holland Chatsworth, then as principal at Beavercrest, Beaver Valley, Meaford, Macphail Memorial and ended my career at Strathcona Senior Public School in Owen Sound. I have also had the privilege of teaching twice in China, working in Nunavut and paddling many different regions of Canada. I enjoy the outdoors; camping, canoeing, hiking, golfing, skiing and snowshoeing are just a few to name.
My personal beliefs about photography derive from my relationship with nature. The sense of wonder that is evident everywhere fuels my passion to compose my work. I strive to capture in my photographs the essence of light and how it interacts with our environment. The Grey/Bruce region is rich in diversity of topography, flora, and fauna. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of composing photographs that reflect the beauty and the uniqueness of the area.
I have been a proud member of the Owen Sound Artist’s Co-op since its inception and have many of my photographs on display there. I am also fortunate enough to have several of my framed pieces hanging in a number of professional offices in Owen Sound.
I love photography and the experience of photographing the destinations and the people I’ve met along the way is unforgettable.
