“I have always had a passion to create and work with my hands. For me, satisfaction comes from seeing the work you’ve accomplished in front of you. I remember when I was young having a deep curiosity for the potter’s wheel. Unfortunately I never considered that you could make a living as a potter. Instead, I would graduate from the University of Guelph-Humber to receive a Bachelors of Applied Science in Kinesiology. I worked in the health field for ~5 years, discovering in that time that it was not for me. In 2019, I moved back to my home roots and began my journey in clay. I apprenticed at Gleason Brook Pottery with Master Potter Timothy Smith for ~4 years.
My work aims to be functional and to be used and enjoyed for everyday use. My style is minimalistic, incorporates curvy contours and speaks a timeless feel.” ~ Amanda Millar
