The Legacy Program is a special project of the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op. We have a mandate to provide outreach programs to the greater community.  As a group we are able to be a resource for information, education, and exhibition opportunities in the Legacy Gallery.  Our program was initiated by an Ontario Trillium Grant opportunity and currently we are continuing with the following projects:

Legacy Gallery

A spacious portion of our large retail area is dedicated to gallery space that is available for makers to rent monthly.  Please see our application for more details.  This gallery has proven successful for the many artists and groups who have exhibited.  A large window is available for advertising the exhibition, and our busy store allows many people to view, admire, and purchase work!  Check out our Legacy Gallery page to see the latest Legacy Gallery Exhibit.

High School Juried Show

Every year in the spring we offer our Legacy Gallery to the senior students of Grey and Bruce counties.  The Arts and Crafts Show allows senior art/fashion/woodworking/craft pupils to exhibit their work in a gallery setting.  A jury of respected artists/craftspersons is chosen to award 1st and 2nd prizes in 2D and 3D work.  Eight Honourable Mentions, Curator’s Choice and People’s Choice are also awarded at our annual opening.  The Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op recognizes that the gifts our art students possess need to be celebrated and encouraged.  All work submitted will be shown for the complete month.
